This Privacy Policy explains how Online Clipboard ("we", "us") handles information when you use our website and tools. By using Online Clipboard, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we handle

Text clips: Text you submit to the Online Clipboard is stored temporarily on our backend (Supabase) only until its expiration time, which never exceeds 24 hours. After expiration the data is permanently deleted.

Live Clipboard: Text in a live room is transmitted through a realtime channel and is not written to any database. It exists only while the room is active.

P2P file transfers: Files are streamed directly between browsers using WebRTC. We never receive, store, or have access to the files you send. If — and only if — a direct connection cannot be established and the sender enables the optional fallback, the file is transferred through an external third-party server, where it is stored temporarily and auto-deleted (typically within a day). The fallback is off unless you turn it on.

Passcodes: When you protect a clip with a passcode, only a one-way cryptographic hash of it is stored. We cannot recover the original passcode.

2. Cookies & local storage

We use browser local storage to remember your theme preference (light/dark). We do not use cookies to personally identify you.

3. Analytics & advertising

We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage, and Google AdSense to display advertising. These third parties may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can learn more via Google's Advertising policies.

4. Data security

We apply reasonable safeguards, including transport encryption and short data lifetimes. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Do not share highly sensitive information.

5. Children's privacy

Online Clipboard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

6. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
